Tyrosalata (Whipped Feta with Honey)

Greek whipped feta gets drizzled in honey and topped with fresh thyme and red pepper flakes. It's the perfect dip, spread, or appetizer and takes less than 10 minutes to whip up.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz block feta, in brine
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme for serving
  • pinch red pepper flakes for serving optional
  • toasted pita bread for serving optional

Instructions

  • Break up block of feta into crumbles and add to the food processor. Add in Greek yogurt, minced garlic, olive oil, and dried oregano.
  • Turn on food processor and pulse for 30 seconds. Scrape down the sides as needed and then pulse for another 30-60 seconds or until desired consistency is reached.
  • Transfer mixture to a serving dish. Top with desired amount of drizzled honey, fresh thyme, and red pepper flakes.
  • Serve with toasted pita, bread, crackers, vegetables or on top of a crostini.

Notes

  • TIP: No food processor? Use a blender, immersion blender, mixer, or just mash the feta up well with a fork.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
