WHAT IS NORMALLY ON A CHARCUTERIE BOARD?
Charcuterie (pronounced shar-KOO-ta-REE) is a French term that translates to the preparing of cured meats. If you were to order a charcuterie while in France, you would expect a board of purely cured meats.
But the term has evolved (especially in the U.S.) and these days refers to a large platter with an assortment of snackable ingredients.
Normally, a charcuterie board will include a variety of cured meats, cheeses, crackers, fruits, nuts, olives, vegetables, spreads, and dips.

HOW TO MAKE A FALL CHARCUTERIE BOARD
Creating a fall charcuterie board is easy and fun (they almost always turn out pretty). You can follow the video tutorial on TikTok or gather your supplies and create freely.
I like to follow a few simple guidelines when making charcuterie boards:
- First, I make sure my grocery list includes three different cheeses, three different meats, one bread option, one cracker option, a couple different fruits and vegetables, nuts, olives, jam/spread, and one sweet item.
- For the cheeses, I like to select one soft creamy cheese like brie, one goat cheese, and one hard cheese like aged gouda. I always choose a variety pack of cured meats as well.
- Including a garnish such as a mini pumpkin, sage leaves or rosemary is a must for the ultimate final touch.
Step 1 – Clean a large wood board, preferably one that spins like this one from Amazon. Gather all ingredients listed above.
Step 2 – Start with placing the 3 cheeses on opposite ends of the board.
Step 3 – Next, fold meats neatly and arrange near the cheeses.
Step 4 – Fill in all open spaces with fruits, vegetables, nuts, sliced bread, crackers, and little dishes filled with jam, honey, and spreads. Don’t forget to serve with little spoons and knives.
Tip: Remember to add a variety of textures and colors as well as little dishes filled with jam, nuts, or honey. Take it up a notch with a garnish like rosemary sprigs or sage leaves.

There’s nothing better than fresh seasonal ingredients so here are a few ideas to get you started.
FRUIT: cranberries, apples, grapes, figs, pears, raspberries, pomegranates, persimmons.
VEGETABLES: pumpkin, brussel sprouts, broccoli, eggplant, winter squash, celery, sweet potato, bell peppers.
