Once I learned how easy it was to make crepes at home I was obsessed. Crepes originated in France and are just really really thin pancakes (if you’ve ever seen the movie Talladega Nights then you know). You can customize them however you like, chocolate, cheese, fruit or just plain butter. Ham & cheese is a good idea, but my absolute favorite is Paris ‘street cart style’ – smothered in Nutella with thinly sliced bananas and strawberries *chef’s kiss*
Nutella Crepes with Strawberries and Bananas
Ingredients
- 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
- 2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter, Melted
- Bananas, Optional
- Strawberries, Optional
- Nutella Spread, Optional
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar and salt.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, water and butter. Mix your wet ingredients into your dry ingredients bowl until combined and smooth batter forms.
- Spray or butter a nonstick-pan and heat over medium. Pour 1/2 cup of batter into the middle of the pan and quickly tilt the pan in a circular motion until batter is evenly spread over the entire surface. Cook for 2 minutes or until sides of crepe start to curl up. Flip once and continue cooking for another 2 minutes. Remove from pan and repeat with remaining batter.
- Spread the Nutella evenly onto the crepe and add some thinly sliced bananas or strawberries (or both!). Fold in half and then fold again. Top with more thinly sliced fruit, dust with powdered sugar and enjoy!
